7 Stocks Under $10 Institutions Are Buying After Earnings

There's always a lot of hype before earnings releases and speculators can easily push prices past fair value. But what happens after the quarterly report? In this screen we looked for low priced stocks with an earnings date in the last week and a positive response from the market. Could there be more upside ahead?

Screening criteria:

Share price below $10 Trading below 200 day simple moving average But with positive changes during the trading day Institutional buying in the current quarter. Net sales are still above 5% of share float.

Since these stocks are relatively small in terms of market capitalization, its reassuring that large institutions feel safe in investing them. Stocks in this list have interesting and innovative businesses, but are still in the growth phase.

Hansen Medical (HNSN) creates robots that assist in heart-related surgical operations. The company only recently stepped out of the red to become profitable which may be deterring risk-averse investors. Leap Wireless (LEAP)was able to increase sales this quarter but its losses increased which brings us to question how it will do in the near future. Nutrisystem (NTRI) is a company similar to Weight Watchers (WTW) that has negative earnings but is actively new pursuing opportunities. Melissa Joan Hart will be endorsing the brand as it continues to expand into large retailers.
